The Capacity Programme

Through TCaP programme, 3FHi will seek to;
  1. Build technical, advocacy and leadership capacity of the FRL, their institutions and allies in the delivery of health services and policy influencing in Uganda.
  2. As part of the capacity building process, the selected FRL will be equipped with advocacy skills (benchmarking the AFP SMART approach in the context of WCAH), and application of evidence to influence policies and hold decision makers accountable.
  3. They will also be oriented on how to conduct simple social accountability exercises using simple social accountability tools to collect community views on delivery of WCAH services at the local health facilities and indicators at communities.

Preventing GBV

In Uganda, girls and women living and residing in urban informal settlements, refugee settings and fishing communities experience various forms of abuse including rape, gender-based discrimination and exploitation. There are clear indications that these abuses often coexists with other risky sexual behaviours like an early sexual debut and multiple concurrent sexual partnerships. Indeed, girls and women are at more risk for gender-based violence, and this is a threat to human security and a violation of human rights.

We are building a collective vision and movement of the local actors to change power dynamics and structures allowing VaGW to thrive. We are promoting gender equality and empowerment of girls and women across Uganda.

Health Access for All (UHC).

On March 31st 2021, the 10th parliament passed the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) Bill. The NHIS will anchor Universal Health Coverage (UHC). The NHIS/UHC will provide a sustainable mechanism for financing health. Its actualization will help majority of Ugandans to access health without falling into poverty due to out-of-pocket expenditure. Ideally, the NHIS is intended to increase access to quality health services without increasing financial hardship for those paying for health services through out-of-pocket expenses.

We are increasing political and stakeholders’ mobilization and engagements towards UHC/National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) legislation.
