This Framework is designed to help Ibanda District Local Government to assess their current programmes and existing services, identify any gaps, and develop programmes to prevent teenage pregnancy from occurring and mitigate the impact of pregnancy when it occurs. A self-assessment checklist was used by the district to assess its preparedness in responding to teenage pregnancy challenges. The tool helped the district to assess its current local situation, identify gaps, and develop actions. The tool had 10 key factors, which the district leadership must address in their efforts to prevent teenage pregnancy as well as mitigate its effects. A multi-disciplinary District Task Force comprising of government and non-government officials spearheaded the self-assessment exercise. The framework will provide the required policy framework to prevent increasing cases of teenage pregnancy and provide support to the teenage mothers. Download Framework Document Here
