Faith for Family Health initiative (3FHi) Ongoing work on Immunization with Support from GAVI through PATH  under the Equity Accelerator Fund.

Faith for Family initiative (3FHi) is focused on reaching every zero-dose and under-immunized child in Wakiso District by leveraging the trusted voices of inter-faith leaders, cultural leaders, VHTs, and local political leadership.

Key Highlights (October – November 2025)

13 November 2025 – Ndejje Refugee Community Outreach in partnership with Rotary Club of Lubowa, 3FHi brought free immunization services directly to Lubugumu Ward, Ndejje Division. Founder Jackie Katana and Rotarians joined VHTs and inter-faith champions on the ground to mobilise and vaccinate children who had never received a single dose or were behind schedule.

Integrated Child Health Days & Targeted Outreaches ongoing mobilisation and service delivery support in:Nansana Municipality,Mende Sub-county (Bakka village), Zzinga Island & Bussi Sub-county (Makanaga village),Busabala Health Centre III, Masulita Subcounty and town council, Namayumba subcounty and subcounty, Kakiri Subcounty and town concil,Ndejje and Masajja Divisions catchment areas, Community Dialogues that Break Barriers.

Faith and community leaders are leading open conversations with parents, market vendors, fishermen, and security personnel to tackle myths, long distances, ignorance, and politicisation of immunisation – especially in hard-to-reach lake islands and refugee settlements.

Inter-Faith & Multi-Sectoral Champions in Action

Over 150 trained religious leaders (Christian & Muslim), cultural leaders, and VHTs are now active “Immunisation Champions” conducting door-to-door mobilisation, preaching vaccine acceptance from pulpits and mosques, and escorting children to outreach posts.

Result so far: Hundreds of zero-dose and under-immunised children identified and vaccinated, with thousands more parents committing to complete the routine schedule.

Faith for Family Health initiative (3FHi) continues to prove that when faith communities lead, no child is left behind.
