Family Health initiative(3FHi) Shines at the 5th National Safe Motherhood Conference 2025
Faith for Family Health initiative (3FHi) is delighted to share updates from the impactful 5th National Safe Motherhood Conference, Awards, and Expo where stakeholders and partners gathered to strengthen commitments and share strategies for improving Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Adolescent Health, and Nutrition (RMNCAH+N).
From 22nd to 24th October 2025, Faith for Family Health initiative (3FHi) actively participated in the 5th National Safe Motherhood Conference, Awards, and Expo, organized by the Ministry of Health under the powerful theme “Strengthening Multi-sectoral Collaboration and Mutual Accountability for Safe Motherhood.” The conference brought together diverse stakeholders to review progress, confront persistent challenges, and chart bold strategies to improve family planning, maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes through coordinated, cross-sectoral action.
3FHi proudly showcased its signature interfaith-led and multi-sectoral engagement model, demonstrating how religious, cultural, and community leaders can effectively harness trust and influence to drive demand for maternal and newborn health services. Our participation included:
3FHi and Inter-Faith religious joined Ministry of Health officials, and development partners on a high-level panel exploring multi-sectoral strategies for safe motherhood. We spotlighted our flagship Uzazi Salama project in Ntoroko District (funded by Comic Relief), highlighting its innovative approach to improving access to and demand for adolescent and reproductive health services. The integration of climate risk awareness into the project was particularly well-received, earning appreciation for its forward-thinking, holistic design.
Our booth attracted significant attention, featuring visual displays, case studies, and interactive sessions that showcased 3FHi’s training programs, advocacy platforms, and community outreach efforts. Special emphasis was placed on the Uzazi Salama model in Ntoroko, which combines interfaith-led advocacy and accountability, in-school psychosocial support, adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) economic empowerment, and digital engagement to amplify community voices on sexual and reproductive health (SRH) quality and climate resilience—delivering comprehensive improvements in adolescent and maternal health outcomes.
We contributed to enrich dialogues with stakeholders, forging new connections and sharing best practices for integrating faith-based and cultural approaches into national health strategies, further strengthening 3FHi’s position as a key convener in maternal and reproductive health advocacy.
This high-profile engagement reinforced 3FHi’s leadership in advancing safe motherhood through multi-sectoral collaboration, mutual accountability, and faith-centered community mobilization. We remain deeply committed to working hand-in-hand with the Ministry of Health, development partners, religious institutions, and communities to ensure every mother and newborn in Uganda thrives.
